Abstract
The potential of production of lube base stocks of Sedra and Hamada crude oils has been assessed both in terms of quality and utility. Atmospheric residua (340+°C) of these crude oils were prepared for different classes for manufacturing lube base stocks and evaluated for manufacturing atmospheric residua (340+°C) fractions. The atmospheric residua fractions of these crude oils were further distilled into solvent extracted cuts, dewaxed cuts and dewaxed-naphthene deficient cuts were determined and evaluated for lube base stocks production. Suggestions of possible use of Sedra and Hamada lube base stocks are also presented.
