CORROSION CONTROL IN DEFA WATERFLOOD SYSTEM

Practical methods are presented to select different biocides and corrosion inhibitors for the DEFA water-flood system. It involves the use of side stream bacteria detection on mounted probes and potentiodynamic technique on the well head of a source water well. These methods are well suited for application in systems where high frequency fluctuations in process variables are encountered. Field examples of corrosion problems and solutions are cited.
