EVALUATION OF OIL FIELD CORROSION INHIBITORS BY NACE STATIC TEST METHOD AND THE WHEEL TEST METHOD

Abstract

Four commonly used corrosion inhibitors in Libyan oil fields were selected and evaluated using both the static test method and the wheel test method. It was found that the results from the wheel test were more realistic than those from the static test, as the former closely mimics the environmental conditions in the field. The results indicate that the corrosion inhibitor referred to as number III in this experiment provides the highest level of corrosion protection.  (Translated to Eng.)
