Three-phase relative permeability data are required to run reservoir simulation studies or to evaluate reservoir performance. These data can be obtained from laboratory measurements or by theoretical models. Experimental studies have been carried out since 1941. The difficulties observed during the experimental procedures and calculations have limited the work conducted in this area. Only scattered amounts of published data are available on this subject.
This paper gives an overview of the work done on experimental three-phase relative permeability data, presented in chronological order along with the main conclusions.
